WAYS TO GIVE CHILDREN’S SAFEHOUSE CHILDREN’S SAFEHOUSE The Children’s Safehouse provides age-appropriate, legally defensible forensic interviews for children 2-18 years of age and developmentally disabled adults who have been the alleged victim of sexual or physical abuse, or who have witnessed a violent crime. Our average client is a 9-year-old girl, sexually abused by someone she knows and trusts. Family advocates work closely with the alleged victim’s guardian to ensure that they are provided resources and follow-up care, such as medical attention, and therapy. LEARN MORE FAMILY WELLNESS FAMILY WELLNESS Family Wellness refers to a variety of services offered to children and their families to help them navigate the complex system of supports needed on the journey to healing and recovery. Trauma affects whole family, not just the child. Children need safe, stable and nurturing relationships to heal from trauma and prevent further trauma. We support the healing process for parent and caregiver’s childhood trauma so as to empower them to protect and support the healing process of their children.
